Rangers have been lauded by Dejan Kulusevski after the Tottenham Hotspur ace admitted Philippe Clement's side "played a perfect game".

The Swede came on at half-time for Ange Postecoglou's side and spared the former Celtic manager's blushes, equalising to cancel out Hamza Igamane's opening goal in the 1-1 draw.

The Ibrox crowd have been credited by Kulusevski, who called the Gers home "a beautiful stadium" when speaking on TNT Sports [12 December] after the final whistle.

"Rangers played very well and I think we struggled a bit. It is what it is, we didn't play well enough to win the game," the Spurs winger confessed.

"They played a perfect game, Rangers. It's a beautiful stadium and the fans were helping them a lot."

Rangers will take confident from performance v Tottenham

Some may have feared Rangers would show too much respect to Tottenham and find themselves overwhelmed in dealing with some of the Premier League's most glittering stars.

As it turned out, Clement's men approached the Europa League encounter with their trademark European belief, taking the game regularly to Spurs and creating chances.

Igamane's opener blew the roof off Ibrox, and had it not been for Kulusevski - or the offside flag against Cyriel Dessers for that matter - the night would have gone down in Govan folklore.

However, Clement and his team can take great confidence from going toe-to-toe with one of England's "big six", ahead of a crucial chance to retain the Scottish League Cup against the old enemy on Sunday.

The quickest of turnarounds plus the injury to John Souttar presents a major challenge to the Light Blues, who can continue their much-improved form and reignite their season with the opportunity to get one over on Celtic at Hampden Park [15 December].
