Alex Crook believes Rangers will be confident of "cashing in" on the recent poor form of Tottenham ahead of their Europa League tie on Thursday.

The Gers have found themselves in decent form lately with their 3-0 Scottish Premiership victory over Ross County helping boost their points tally.

Rangers welcome Spurs on 12 December for the first time Ange Postecoglou has returned to Ibrox since his Celtic exit, with his job now seemingly on the line.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (9 December, 07:11am), Crook shared his thoughts on the upcoming clash.

"It's a huge week for Spurs coming up because they've got Rangers away in the Europa League on Thursday," he said.

"I think Rangers at home, despite the gulf in quality between the two teams on the face of it, will be confident of cashing in on Tottenham's woes."

Philippe Clement to force Ange Postecoglou sack?

Philippe Clement has recently changed his style at Ibrox, with Hamza Igamane being unleashed in a new fluid attacking system that has reaped its rewards.

The Morocco international has been a surprise package recently with the striker bagging four goals in his last four games.

His partnership with Danilo has been pivotal to the recent upturn in form, but as the Brazilian isn't part of Rangers' Europa League squad, it's likely that Cyriel Dessers may make his way back into the starting XI.

If the Gers manage to pull off something special and come away from Ibrox with all three points to their name, Clement will make his way back into the good books and potentially send Postecoglou to the sack instead.

Only time will tell what the future has in store, but when Tottenham's form is taken into account, there's a slight chance an upset could be there for the taking.
