Steven Thompson hailed Jefte for his "excellent" driving run and shot in the first half of Rangers' 4-1 win against Nice.

The Gers secured an impressive Europa League victory on Thursday (28 November), winning 4-1 thanks to goals from Vaclav Cerny, Mohamed Diomande and two from Hamza Igamane.

Philippe Clement's side performed well from start to finish, with former striker Thompson picking out the Brazilian full-back live on BBC Sportsound (8:20pm).

He said: "That's excellent from Jefte, who took it into his own hands.

"He received the ball from the left and could have played a simple pass, but decided to take his man on, drive with pace and before you know it he's on the edge of the box.

"It wasn't a bad shot with his weaker shot."

Jefte picked out for Rangers moment v Nice

Light Blues supporters were all left pinching themselves at half-time as to where the performance from their side had come from.

Clement has come under so much pressure in recent weeks and it appeared that his players were taking on his message and performing to save his future.

Jefte looked to be a man on a mission, especially with this moment that was picked out by the BBC pundit.

The left-back has had an up-and-down spell in his opening months at Ibrox but has been a regular feature under the Belgian since signing.

Like a lot of his teammates, there was certainly a pick up in performance level in France, which helped the Gers secure a famous result.

There must be part of Clement thinking 'where has this performance been?', but he will also be hoping this will act as a springboard ahead of a return to Scottish Premiership action on Sunday (1 November).
