Rangers and Celtic are keen on securing the services of Brighton striker Evan Ferguson on loan, according to TBR sources.

The news outlet reported that West Ham, Southampton, Leicester and Fulham are also keen on the 20-year-old Republic of Ireland forward.

The Seagulls have made him available for loan in January as he's fallen down the pecking order at the Amex Stadium.

Rangers must do whatever they can to sign Evan Ferguson

Gers have struggled to find consistent firepower in the final third, an issue that has been evident in their recent performances.

Ferguson, despite his young age, has shown a natural goal-scoring instinct, having impressed during his limited opportunities at Brighton.

His ability to perform in the Premier League, even when not a regular starter, suggests he possesses the quality to thrive in the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers require a striker who not only scores but also brings a different dimension to their attack as Cyriel Dessers has struggled and that's something Ferguson could offer with his physical presence and finishing ability.

Glenn Murray has likened the Irishman to Harry Kane - so it's evident that Ferguson has something to him and Brighton know he would get better with regular game time.

The former Brighton striker said in 2023: “I believe he could be at Harry Kane’s level. His stature, his ability."

His loan would also provide Brighton with a chance to see how he performs under pressure to start regularly, potentially increasing his value or readiness for their first team.
