Alasdair Lamont slammed Mohamed Diomande for his "awful" pass as Rangers drew 1-1 with Dundee United at Ibrox.

The moment in question came in the first half of Saturday's (23 November) Scottish Premiership clash, which ended all square.

Diomande failed to pick out a colleague, much to the annoyance of the home crowd, with their side a goal down at that point.

"Diomande has just played the most awful pass looking for Jefte," reporter Lamont said on BBC Scotland's live commentary [23 November]. "The crowd are letting him know what they think of that."

Mohamed Diomande badly struggles for Rangers v Dundee United

Diomande was hooked off at half-time at Ibrox, as was Cyriel Dessers, after a pretty terrible opening 45 minutes.

It was terrible not only from the midfielder's perspective, but also from the Gers as a whole as they could not get going.

Going into the break scoreless would have been bad enough, but they then conceded and Ibrox was always going to be restless at that point.

Diomande was the fall-guy - well, one of two fall guys - but he can have zero complaints. Going forward, Clement may have to have a rethink.

That is assuming he is still even in a job come the next league game, having seen his side labour once again in a game that should have been a resounding win.

If supporters were hoping this next block of fixtures would act as a turning point in the campaign, they were sadly mistaken.

If Diomande does retain his place in the starting line-up next time out, he quite simply has to do a lot better than this.
