Arif Aiman Hanapi of Johor Darul Ta'zim is attracting interest from Rangers ahead of the January transfer window, according to the New Straits Times.

The Malaysian newspaper reported via its print edition on Sunday (10 November, page 45) that the 22-year-old - described as one of Asia's hottest talents - has been placed on the Light Blues' radar after impressing in the AFC Champions League Elite.

The report adds that a deal could be on the cards for the Scottish giants as early as the January transfer window.

Versatility is one of Aiman's major strengths as he can play in multiple attacking positions, but he has spent most of this season playing down the right flank.

This is interesting as Vaclay Cerny has made the position his own at Ibrox, notching six goals and five assists in 17 games from there this term.

The right side of the attack is perhaps the least of Rangers' concerns at this moment and it, therefore, remains to be seen if they will push forward with their interest in Aiman.

However, as someone playing for an Asian club, the Malaysia international could be available for a comparatively cheaper price and prove to be a bargain.

It is also encouraging to see the club looking across the globe for talent as they look to put their disappointing start to the season behind them.
