Olympiacos manager Jose Luis Mendilibar has named Vaclav Cerny as one Rangers player his side need to watch out for in the Europa League clash on Thursday.

The Gers travel to Greece on 7 November as they look to make it three wins from four in Europe for the campaign.

Philippe Clement's side will have to be on top of their game against the Red-Whites and their boss has picked out Cerny as a danger man ahead of the game, transcribed by the Scottish Sun (7 November, page 55).

Mendilibar said: "It is a team that is not about individuals. If someone stands out it is Vaclav Cerny. We have to watch him."

The Czechia international has shown his class since coming in on loan at Ibrox despite having a shaky start in the opening weeks of the season.

The 27-year-old has become as important as almost anyone to Clement's side and it is clear that there is a lack of goal threat when he doesn't play.

This was shown by the defeat against Aberdeen at Pittodrie where the Light Blues failed to impress but were without Cerny who missed out due to injury.

He returned in the League Cup and performed well, grabbing an assist, despite not getting on the scoresheet himself against Motherwell.

Now the Czech star will be keen to impress once again on the Europa League stage where he has already scored two goals in the first three games of the league phase.

It is interesting to see the Olympiacos manager pick him out and Gers supporters will be keen to see him perform.
