Rangers ace Dujon Sterling is believed to have overcome an issue that stunted his start to the season as he was battling injury issues, according to Rangers Review.

The news outlet reported on 28 October that the 25-year-old is likely to play in midfield in the coming weeks.

He has not played at right-back since the pre-season game against Manchester United and that's not expected to change.

Dujon Sterling can serve as a good backup to James Tavernier at Rangers

If Philippe Clement views Sterling primarily as a midfielder, this might signal a strategic shift at Gers, especially considering his versatility.

However, should Clement see Neraysho Kasanwirjo more as a centre-back, it could open up a competitive scenario at right-back.

At 33, James Tavernier, despite his leadership and historical contributions, might be showing signs of age-related declines in performance consistency.

Sterling, younger and potentially more dynamic, could offer a fresher alternative.

His ability to adapt across various defensive positions, combined with his recent midfield exploits, suggests he could bring a new energy to the right-back role.

This competition could push Tavernier, urging him to maintain or elevate his game, or it might see Sterling taking the reins if Clement prioritises youth and versatility in his squad dynamics.
