Neil McCann has taken aim at Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers after a "Scrubby" performance against FCSB in the Europa League.

The Bears returned to winning ways with a 4-0 demolition of the Romanian champions at Ibrox on 24 October, with Tom Lawrence, Valclav Cerny and Hamza Igamane getting the goals.

Speaking live on BBC Sportsound [24 October, 20:24], McCann was not impressed with the Nigerian's play before he was taken off visibly raging in the second half [David Edgar].

"It's really scrubby play by Dessers," he said.

"In fact, it has been really so far in the match."

Cyriel Dessers poor for Rangers again

Dessers isn't a fan favourite by any means, and his performances recently have been below par.

The Bears have not been at their free-scoring best so far this season, having found the back of the net just once in four away matches so far in the Scottish Premiership.

Therefore, it's clear for everyone to see that the Nigerian isn't good enough to lead the line for Philippe Clement consistently, with the pressure on his shoulders through the roof right now.

Clement's future at the Bears has been up in the air after the 1-0 loss to Kilmarnock, but this European thrashing will no doubt ease some of those worries, but it must be followed up.

During the loss at Rugby Park, it was evident that Dessers wouldn't be able to make an impact in the game after looking uninterested during the match, and his place must be under serious threat now.

Therefore, no matter what happens throughout the season, it's clear that the Light Blues need to invest in a quality number nine in the coming months.
