Rangers attacker Tom Lawrence could need a late fitness test due to his ankle injury for the Kilmarnock clash on 20 October, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that while the severity of the setback he sustained in the game against Lyon is still not clear, what would matter is if and how he's been training this week.

On resumption of the international break, Gers travel to Rugby Park hoping to pick up the three points.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: "We don’t have much information at all outside of it being an ankle injury.

"The best case would be a mild injury where he is day to day with routine checks.

"The worst case would be something more significant.

"If he’s back in training as he’s not gone out on international duty, he could be ready for the weekend.

"He’ll still need a late fitness test."

Tom Lawrence has been an in-form player for Rangers this season

Lawrence has been one of the in-form players for Philippe Clement's side this season and his absence is a big miss.

The 30-year-old found the back of the net in each of his last two games and over the last seven appearances in all competitions, the Wales international has scored four and provided an assist.

Clement will be hoping that Lawrence's injury lay-off is not a lengthy one and that he'd be available against Kilmarnock.
