Rangers have not yet provided anything official in response to rumours that Creag Robertson has resigned, according to 4 Lads Had A Dream.

The Gers outlet responded via X after a fan inquired the club's director of football operations amid emerging suggestions he is the latest high-level Light Blues figure to depart.

John Bennett was recently forced to resign as chairman on health grounds last month (14 September), while chief executive James Bisgrove stunned the club when he suddenly left for Saudi Arabia at the end of last season [Scottish Sun, 30 May].

4 Lads wrote in reaction to the Robertson rumours: "That’s the story. Nothing official."

Creag Robertson resignation rumours emerge at Rangers

Until there is something official it may just be a false alarm but the recent history of the club makes it a believable possibility either way.

The level of turnover in key positions over the past few seasons has been major and has surely contributed to the lack of success on the pitch during that time.

There is additionally still no sporting director at the club since Ross Wilson departed to Nottingham Forest 17 months ago, while academy head Zeb Jacobs went to Feyenoord at the end of last term and has also not been replaced.

Bennett himself had only moved into the chairman's role after Douglas Park stepped down in April 2023, and has now had to move on himself.

So should Robertson turn out to be the latest to depart it will only add to interim chairman John Gilligan's task of righting the ship.
