Philippe Clement has made three changes to his Rangers starting XI to face Dundee United on Sunday (15 September).

With Rabbi Matondo suffering a new injury, fans are delighted to see the return of Oscar Cortes while Dujon Sterling is benched while Vaclav Cerny is missing altogether against the Tangerines.

Kieran Dowell and Tom Lawrence come in to replace the duo, with Clement sticking with eight of the players who were condemned to the 3-0 defeat at Celtic Park before the international break.

Rangers announced their lineup via X.

Jack Butland, unsurprisingly, remains in between the sticks, with the same back four of James Tavernier, John Souttar, Robin Propper and Jeft ahead of him.

The reliable partnership of Connor Barron and Mohamed Diomande is still intact, with Dowell being deployed alongside them, assisting the forward line of Cortes, Cyriel Dessers and Lawrence.

While the Welshman has been given the nod after being benched against the Hoops, Clement may be criticised for his decision to leave out Nedim Bejrami.

Although the 25-year-old attacking midfielder has had little time to work with the Gers squad since arriving from Sassuolo this summer, there has been a clamour for him to be thrown into the lineup.

The inclusion of Cortes is likely to distract fans from this selection, though.

Their Old Firm rivals Celtic are already eight points ahead of them, albeit with a game in hand, so a win at Tannadice Park is vital.

Following Celtic's 2-0 victory over Hearts on Saturday 14 September, the Gers must take this opportunity against the Tangerines to keep the gap to just five points in the league table.
