Rangers want to secure the services of Southampton attacker Samuel Edozie on loan ahead of the transfer deadline, according to Mark McAdam.

The Sky Sports journalist reported on 30 August that along with Gers, Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United and Swansea as well as two other unnamed Championship clubs are keen on the 21-year-old.

The English winger preferably plays on the left and has been a first-team player for the Saints since his debut in September 2022.

McAdam wrote on X: "Samuel Edozie has multiple options to leave Saints on loan today. It's believed Rangers, Sheffield Weds, Sheff U & Swansea as well as two other unnamed Championship clubs are all hoping to land the former Man City man. Up to the player to decide."

Samuel Edozie would be a quality addition for Rangers

Edozie's background at Manchester City, playing for the youth team and his subsequent move to Southampton underscore his pedigree for top-tier football, bringing a level of technical quality and tactical understanding that could elevate Rangers' play.

His versatility to operate across the front line, combined with his pace and dribbling skills, aligns well with Gers' style of play, offering dynamic attacking options that could trouble defences in the Scottish Premiership as Abdallah Sima did.

Moreover, at 21, the Englishman's potential for growth is significant, suggesting a long-term investment that could pay dividends as he matures if there is an option to buy.

His experience in the Premier League provides him with insights into high-pressure environments, which could be beneficial in crucial matches and it's clear Philippe Clement is eyeing players in this positon.

Additionally, his ability to contribute in the final third, as noted by his performances, makes him an attractive prospect for Gers looking to bolster their attacking options with a player who has the ability to hit the ground running.
