Rangers take on St Johnstone in the Scottish League Cup at Hampden Park on Saturday, 16 August.

Ahead of the game, Philippe Clement has issued an update on his team and the absentees with Oscar Cortes already out for a few weeks.

Ridvan Yilmaz is set to be out for up to six weeks due to an injury, Scott Wright will miss the next game and Leon Balogun is a doubt, according to Rangers Review's Chris Jack, who was at the press conference.

Rangers will be expecting to beat St Johnstone on Saturday

Despite the Champions League setback, Gers are motivated to bounce back, especially in a competition they've won recently.

The need to regain momentum and the pressure of defending their title will drive them to perform.

While Rangers have injury concerns, St Johnstone also face significant absences, which might weaken their squad depth and tactical options.

Playing at Hampden Park, albeit not their usual home, still provides Gers with a familiar environment and the support of their fans, which can be a significant boost.

Clement will be eager to prove that he can take this team forward, especially after a bad start to the new season.

A commanding performance here will do him wonders, especially given the tricky fixture list in the coming weeks.
