Danilo has sent his best wishes to Sam Lammers after the Dutch striker left Rangers to join FC Twente on Friday.

The Light Blues announced via their official website on 26 July that Lammers, 27, has left Ibrox on a permanent basis, just one year after Michael Beale signed him from Atalanta. Twente are reportedly paying £2.5million for the striker, with add-ons potentially taking that fee to £4million in the future [Sky Sports].

Danilo, who also signed for the Gers last year but saw his debut season disrupted by injury, has since reached out to Lammers on Instagram after the deal was announced.

The Brazilian said: "Big Sam, wish you all the best."

Borna Barisic also reacted, saying: "Congratulations, my brate (brother)."

Rangers firesale continues with more Ibrox exits to come

Lammers has now joined a growing list of players who Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen have moved on since the end of last season.

John Lundstram, Ryan Jack, Kemar Roofe, Barisic and Jon McLaughlin have all had their Ibrox exits confirmed but there are expected to be more.

Todd Cantwell has handed in a transfer request and has now been linked with Cardiff City [Scottish Sun] while speculation has also swirled around the futures of Connor Goldson, James Tavernier and Scott Wright.

No one at Ibrox will be particularly sad to see the back of those players who are yet to leave due to the way the Gers have failed to capitalise on their Scottish Premiership title win in 2020/21.

Lammers, however, is possibly the worst of the bunch because he showed absolutely nothing good about himself in his stint at Ibrox before he was loaned out to Utrecht.

Maybe he wasn't bothered or didn't care, or maybe the pressure was too much for him in Glasgow.

No on will know for sure but what is definite is that everyone will be happy with the deal struck with Twente.
