Rangers defender Connor Goldson was spotted boarding the plane at Glasgow airport amid links to Birmingham City, according to Glasgow World.

The news outlet reported on 8 July that despite Birmingham wanting him, he is travelling with the first team to Holland as part of their pre-season training.

This comes after Football Scotland reported on 7 July that the EFL Championship club were willing to spend big to sign the English centre-back this summer.

Rangers must ensure they get good money for Connor Goldson

Gers must ensure they get good value for Goldson if they decide to sell him as he has been a mainstay in their defence for several seasons, contributing significantly to their successes, including winning the Scottish Premiership title.

His experience and leadership on the pitch are invaluable assets that any team, including the Ibrox outfit, would benefit from.

Secondly, at 31 years old, Goldson is entering the latter stages of his career and while he still has a few good years left, his market value may not be as high as it was a few years ago.

The Glasgow club thus need to capitalise on his current value and ensure they get a fair price if they choose to sell him and to achieve this, they can negotiate from a position of strength, highlighting Goldson's importance to the team and his contributions over the years.

They can also leverage the interest from other clubs, such as Birmingham City, to drive up the price.
