Dan Bardell has urged Rangers to complete a summer transfer for Norwich City midfielder Kenny McLean as a move would make sense for all parties.

The Daily Record reported (24 June) that the Gers want to bring in more Scottish players and the Scotland international, who played at Euro 2024, could be an option.

A potential deal could depend on Norwich's willingness to do business considering the midfielder has two years remaining on his contract.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes that McLean would be a good addition to Philippe Clement's squad this summer especially because he will give everything to the cause.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, Bardell said: "It would be a good signing. He's been a good player at Norwich and he's well thought of there.

"It's a move that would make sense for both parties with him coming back to Scotland to play for Rangers. He'll still have international aspirations after playing at the Euros.

"He's a player who is going to fight and give everything for the badge so I think McLean to Rangers would be a good move."

Philippe Clement and his backroom team have already been extremely busy in the transfer market but there is no doubt some more experience will be high on the list.

The Gers allowed a lot of experienced heads to depart upon the expiry of their contracts and Clement will look to get a few wiser heads in the door.

With Ryan Jack and John Lundstram leaving this summer, there is a need for some new midfield options next campaign as well.

McLean would certainly be a positive option alongside the 21-year-old to provide a wealth of experience to the engine room.

The 32-year-old has featured heavily for Norwich in the Premier League and Championship over the years and could be on the move if the Canaries are willing to do business.

After featuring in the Euros this summer, the Canaries could demand a higher fee but from McLean's point of view, a return to Scotland may make sense.
