Robbie Fraser sends four-word message as Rangers goodbye shared on Instagram

Rangers defender Robbie Fraser has wished outgoing left-back Borna Barisic all the best after he confirmed his departure from Ibrox.

After Barisic posted a farewell message on Instagram following his departure after six seasons at Ibrox, Fraser commented with a four-word message to the Croatian.

Fraser wrote, "wishing you the best" to the 31-year-old, as he joins fellow outgoing team-mate John Lundstram at Turkish Super League side Trabzonspor this summer [Daily Record, 21 May].

The departures of Barisic, Lundstram, Ryan Jack and Kemar Roofe already this summer are testament to the new transfer strategy Philippe Clement is implementing at Ibrox.

The incomings have already begun at pace, and in Barisic's position too, with 20-year-old Brazilian left-back Jefte arriving on 24 May, before last season had even finished [Daily Record, 25 May].

That's far from ideal news for Fraser, who will be hoping to emulate the early success of Barisic at Ibrox by nailing down his starting spot at left-back next season.

Further competition for a place could be on the horizon too in the form of Thomas Galdames, but given the Chilean is currently aboard on Copa America duty, Fraser will hope a strong start to pre-season moves him up the pecking order [Gonzalo Conti, 29 May].

Clement has only seen fit to play Fraser in the first team on two occasions so far, albeit those came in the final two matches of last season, suggesting that he is firmly at the forefront of the Belgian's plans as a new era begins at Ibrox.

In other Rangers news, the club will now be paying an extra £1million to seal yet another summer transfer.
