Cyriel Dessers has admitted that it's been a "crazy" season for Rangers, after their Scottish Premiership title bid took a hit against Celtic on 11 May.

Speaking before the must-win match against Dundee, Dessers reflected on the Gers' 2-1 loss at Parkhead, saying they must react if they're to have any chance of turning the title race back into their favour.

Dessers pulled one back for the Gers after Celtic had raced into a 2-0 lead in as many first-half minutes, but despite the Nigerian international's header proving to be an immediate response, John Lundstram's red card hindered their chances of a second-half comeback.

Dessers said, as posted by the club on X: "How you react to losing is important for a player.

"It has been a crazy season if you look at it since August with ups and downs."

Can Cyriel Dessers rescue Rangers' season?

Rangers all but surrendered their pursuit of the Scottish Premiership title at Parkhead, with their 2-1 loss leaving them six points behind the Hoops with just two matches remaining.

The Gers' goal difference also stands at +52, seven behind Celtic's +59, meaning they'll have to win both of their final games by considerable scorelines to even have a chance of catching their biggest rivals, who need only a single point to seal the title.

Cyriel Dessers
Cyriel Dessers has scored 21 goals in all competitions during his first season at Rangers.

With the league all but sewn up in Celtic's favour, Rangers' attention will soon turn to Hampden Park and finally getting one over on their Glasgow rivals in the Scottish Cup Final on 25 May.

Dessers has played a huge part in getting Rangers to the Hampden decider, scoring the only two goals of the game as Philippe Clement's side defeated Hearts 2-0 in the semi-finals.

His close-range header at Parkhead may have proved to be in vain for Rangers in both the match and the title race, but with the season's final piece of silverware on the line, Dessers has shown himself to be a big-game player who could be the difference maker once again at Hampden.
