Sky Sports presenter intervenes as Kris Boyd calls out Chris Sutton over Rangers player comment
Eilidh Barbour joked she had “lost control” as Kris Boyd pounced on a criticism made by Chris Sutton regarding Rangers ace Fabio Silva.
Sutton once again accused Wolves loanee Silva of being a “diver” during Sky Sports’ pre-match coverage of the Gers versus Kilmarnock clash.
Boyd was unwilling to let that go as he jumped in and pointed out Celtic were on the right end of a controversial call in their win over Hearts.
“By the way, did you see the one yesterday that Celtic got?” Boyd said directly to Sutton [5 May, 12:07pm]. “Two plays clotheslined one another and it was a free-kick to Celtic.”
Presenter Barbour intervened by saying: “Right, let’s move this on. I’ve lost control already.”
Sutton then jokingly added: “Sorry for saying Silva dived.”
Kris Boyd springs to defence of Rangers
Boyd and Sutton love playing up to the Sky Sports cameras on a weekly basis, knowing their comments will generate interest.
Unfortunately for former Celtic player Sutton, his comments now tend to be very unoriginal, with Silva often the subject of his digs.
Boyd was right to point out that this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black as far as Sutton is concerned.

The ongoing slanging match between Boyd and Sutton – which is done in good spirits, it must be said – will ultimately continue.
Fingers crossed that it is Boyd who has the final laugh come the end of the season, but that will come down to who wins the title – the Gers or Celtic.
As for Sutton and his criticism of Silva, well there is no chance of that ending anytime soon.
