Mohamed Diomande's move to Rangers has been held up by Storm Isha but his signing will still go through in the "coming days", according to Chris Jack.

The journalist reported for Rangers Review's website on 22 January that the 22-year-old's deal has not been put in jeopardy by the weather disruption and he has already agreed terms on the move.

He does still need to arrive at Ibrox and complete a medical, but after "severe disruption" on rail lines and at airports in the UK over the weekend his move has been hit by a "temporary delay".

Wait continues

With domestic flights being diverted into Europe over the past 24 hours thanks to the high winds it is little surprise that Diomande hasn't been able to get to Glasgow yet.

There doesn't appear to be any major risk to the deal getting done which will clearly be the main concern for Clement and his recruitment team.

The sooner they can get the youngster in the better though given it remains to be seen how quickly he will be considered up to speed and ready to contribute to the Rangers first team.

The January transfer window has proven heavy going so far with the much-needed push to bring in a striker so far proving fruitless, and the extensive speculation around the left-back spot so far leading to no definitive answers.

So an unforeseen obstacle provided by the weather is perhaps little surprise, but just as Rangers overcome the conditions in the 4-1 Scottish Cup victory at Dumbarton they will hope to do so with this transfer as soon as possible.
