Rangers consider transfer U-turn as Ross McCausland loan exit now on the cards

Rangers could be set to change their stance on Ross McCausland as a loan move is now on the cards, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper reported on its website on Friday (22 September) that the Gers are considering a number of options for the 20-year-old forward after previously being reluctant to loan him out.

It added that the Northern Irishman is keen to secure a temporary move away from Ibrox, with several Championship and League One sides believed to be interested in signing him before the loan market closes.

Makes sense

It comes as no surprise to hear that McCausland is keen on a loan move because it's extremely unlikely he's going to get much of a chance at Rangers this season.

It would allow him to go out and gain some potentially invaluable experience in a first-team environment and play some regular football, having made just two senior appearances for the Gers.

It looks as though he isn't short on options, either, as the newspaper reported that a number of clubs are looking to to land a deal for him.

It's now just about the Light Blues considering where would be best for him to continue his development because it's important he gets enough opportunities rather than just sending him to what would be viewed as the best team.

A loan move could also put the winger in a strong position to build up some confidence ahead of a return to Ibrox, where he would be hoping to force himself into the first team reckoning next season.
