Rangers have won their legal battle with American businesswoman Kyle Fox after her attempts to have the Ibrox club pay her legal fees was booted out of court, but an appeal could now happen, according to Rangers Review.

The website shared the news on 1 September that Fox and her firm KRF Capital claimed they were due recompense because Rangers had instigated a previous lawsuit to prevent her from launching an investment in "bad faith".

Judge Eduardo Sanchez refuted these claims, stating that Rangers litigation of the case has not involved any obstructive conduct, or violated any rules.

Focus can now be applied elsewhere

The Ibrox board had instigated its own proceedings in August 2022 amid claims that Fox was looking to trick investors into thinking that stakes in RIFC plc were for sale with the endorsement of Ibrox power brokers.

It's understood that while Rangers met with Ms Fox, her credentials as an investor were dismissed. The American is not a high-net-worth individual, and her goal was to gather investment from venture capitalists.

Keen to respect the lessons of previous financial problems that club has faced, the current owners want to make sure the club remains in the hands of those who truly understand it as an institution rather than simply as a business opportunity.

Rangers will be happy to have these legal issues tied up and finished with, as they will now be able to turn their full attention to the football season, where they will look to be competitive in all four competitions, having learned their Europa League group earlier today.
