Official Rangers partner reacts as Jack Butland signs four-year deal at Ibrox

Jack Butland turned down a “massive contract offer” from Manchester United to join Rangers as the new number one, according to Four Lads Had A Dream.

The light blues officially announced the arrival of Butland on a four-year contract on Tuesday (6 June), confirming the former Crystal Palace stopper as the third signing of the summer after Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling.

But after Butland posted a message on social media thanking Manchester United after his six month loan spell came to an end and revealed he was a Reds fan growing up, official club partner Four Lads shared that he had turned down a “massive” deal to stay with them so he could come to Ibrox.

“Any questions over the hunger and desire of Jack Butland are cleared in my opinion,” they wrote on their personal Twitter account.

“Turned down a massive contract offer at his boyhood club to come and be number one for us.

“Excited to see him at Rangers.”

Huge

If you were doubting the pull of Rangers Football Club after the season we’ve just had, think again. We’re still absolutely massive.

Allan McGregor is going to leave huge gloves to fill when his retirement is confirmed later this summer, but for now the club should be praised for moving very quickly to replace him before the window is even open.

Rangers

Butland is a former England international and while has hasn’t played regularly in recent seasons, he still is only 30 and has the best years of his career ahead of him.

Much like Joe Hart has done across the city he can reinvigorate himself and kickstart his career once more now and really give the team stability to push on and improve.

Beale has got his man between the sticks, plus a midfielder and defender before the window is open. The club still have plenty of do, but they can’t be accused of sitting on their hands so far this summer.

In other Rangers news, one transfer could be about to fall through after boardroom changes.
