Ryan Kent 'deal done' to sign for new club as Rangers exit announced

Ryan Kent has found a new club with Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu reporting a deal is “done” for the exit-bound Rangers winger to join Fenerbahce.

Writing via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday (23 May), Sports Digitale editor-in-chief Sabuncuoğlu shared a two-word update on Kent’s situation following the news that he was set to leave Ibrox.

Rangers confirmed earlier in the day that the 26-year-old winger, as well as Alfredo Morelos, Allan McGregor, Scott Arfield and Filip Helander, would be leaving at the end of the month when their contracts in Govan expire.

Kent’s already got his next club lined up though with this report in Turkey claiming a deal is in place for him to sign for Fenerbahce.

All the best

Kent’s form over the last few years has been all over the place but it’s undeniable that he’s leaving Ibrox having made more of a positive impact than anything else.

Not only did the ex-Liverpool winger help us to stop 10 in a row, he was arguably one of our best players in the Europa League when we reached the final last season.

Sure, we should have sold him when we had the chance and made a lot of money.

But that £10million – or whatever it was – that Leeds offered up would have maybe denied us the chance of reaching a European final.

We’ve been lucky to have Kent.

It’s a shame that it’s ending the way it is and we do believe he’s way too good to be going to Turkey to play for Fenerbahce if this report is true.

However, we’ll wish him all the best because Kent will definitely go down as a modern-day great at Ibrox for his contribution at the club.

In other Rangers news, it’s been confirmed by the club that this English midfielder has left Ibrox on a permanent basis after a fee was agreed for his transfer.
