Rangers set for transfer battle vs Celtic over 20-goal Utrecht striker Tasos Douvikas
Rangers are set for a battle against Celtic in the transfer market for impressive 23-year-old striker Tasos Douvikas from Utrecht, TEAMtalk reports.
The young scorer has netted 20 goals this season, including 18 in the Eredivisie, which has grabbed attention of sides looking to add to their firepower up front.
The Greek international has doubled his goal output in just his second season in Holland and appears to be on an upward trajectory.
Reporting via Twitter TEAMtalk posted: “Rangers could be ready to battle with Celtic for Greek striker Tasos Douvikas this summer, TEAMtalk understands.
“21-year-old Douvikas has been Utrecht since 2021 and has impressed since arriving in Holland.”

At his age and with his scoring record it is no surprise that teams are taking notice of Douvikas, so if it is this summer than he makes his next move Rangers can’t hang around.
With Alfredo Morelos’ departure having been announced by the club late on Tuesday morning (23 May) there is a significant gap in Michael Beale’s striking department.
A young forward who is finding the net regularly would clearly fit the bill to come in as replacement, although how much of the transfer budget it would take when multiple new arrivals are needed could be key.
But if Celtic are also sniffing around it obviously heightens the pressure on the situation as it would be all the more infuriating if the Light Blues were to miss out on a player who goes from strength to strength and he is doing it across the same city.
Already Beale has a job to do to close the gap to Ange Postecoglou’s side, and while rushing to snap up a player who isn’t the right fit just to keep him out of the Australian’s grasp would be reckless, if the Rangers scouts are convinced then they will need to move quickly and decisively.
In other Rangers news, two new deals are already done and a third is on the way with confidence it is to be completed.
