Rangers transfer update: Michael Beale responds to Ryan Kent reports on Fenerbahce move
Michael Beale has shot down speculation that Rangers winger Ryan Kent is set to move to Turkey at the end of the season.
Takvim reported on 2 May that the Fenerbahce had offered the Englishman a three year contract with an option for an extra year, with Transfer Geeks adding on Friday (5 May) that an agreement has been reached in principle, knocking the Turkish side out of the running for Gers target Luis Palma.
However, despite Kent appearing for all the world to be set for the exit door in the coming weeks Beale appears to have rubbished those reports.
Rangers Review shared footage of the Gers boss in his pre-match press conference (5 May) on Twitter where he said: “I don’t think there’s any truth in that.”
Cold water
Beale has routinely shut down links between players of his that are out of contract in less than two months to moves away in the summer.
That is despite the fact that any of them have been free to speak to clubs since January, as Beale himself admitted [Sky Sports, 5 May], and with no advances on new Ibrox deals apparently coming about it is inevitable that they and their agents have been doing just that in the months since.
Particularly where it comes to Kent and Alfredo Morelos, Beale has looked to keep the door open but it would surely be a major surprise at this stage if either was still in Glasgow next season.

Plenty would now argue that neither should be, with Celtic’s presumed domestic treble making it painfully obvious that this Rangers side needs a revamp.
The manager obviously doesn’t want to be in a position where he is sending out players who it is widely acknowledged have another club on the cards, but at the same time it is reasonable to suggest that if the star pair are off in the summer they, and others in the same boat, shouldn’t be playing between now and then anyway.
So whether it is true that reports from Europe over Kent’s next destination are false, or whether Beale is trying to keep as much under wraps while the season continues as possible, is unclear, but exits seem increasingly sure either way.
In other Rangers news, at least two regulars are missing for Aberdeen and a third may be out as well.
