Kris Boyd brands Alfredo Morelos a 'Disgrace' amid Rangers 1-0 Scottish Cup semi-final loss v Celtic
Kris Boyd has branded Alfredo Morelos a “disgrace” for his performance in Rangers 1-0 loss to Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden Park.
Morelos was named in the starting line-up by Michael Beale but turned in a poor performance before being substituted in the second half with the team chasing a goal.
With his contract at Ibrox up at the end of the season and no signs of a renewal, Boyd believes his “time is up” and was furious at his performance against Celtic once again.
“As for Alfredo Morelos, for me, his time is up,” he said to Sky Sports, as relayed by Football Scotland (1 May).
“I’ve said it for months and I’ve taken a little bit of criticism for it as well. But his performances recently… it’s been a disgrace really.
“Once again yesterday, he never added anything to that Rangers frontline. When you play as that lone striker, you need to be the focal point of the team and he was absolutely nowhere to be seen yesterday.”

Awful
In fairness to Beale, he is short on options up front right now with Antonio Colak and Kemar Roofe injured so Morelos is his only option.
However, there are other players who are capable of playing in that role that are more likely to be at Ibrox next season and are in far better form.
A front four of Ryan Kent, Todd Cantwell, Fashion Sakala and Malik Tillman could work well while Scott Arfield can add goals to the team too.
Morelos’ head hasn’t been at the club for a long time now, with the issues that he had with Giovanni van Bronckhorst earlier in the season proving as much.
It’s time for him to go before the relationship with Rangers fans really turns sour, which would be awful because we absolutely loved him once upon a time. We don’t want him to stay too long and become the villain.
In other Rangers news, an official club partner has blasted one player’s performance as an “absolute embarrassment”.
