Chris Sutton reacts instantly to Rangers 1-0 loss v Celtic, mocks Michael Beale

Chris Sutton has mocked Michael Beale immediately after Rangers were beaten 1-0 by Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final.

Jota headed home the only goal of the game at Hampden Park after the Rangers defence went to sleep when they expected the referee to give a free-kick against them.

The win means Celtic are now just two wins away from a world record eighth domestic treble, and Sutton was quick to rub salt into the wounds on his personal Twitter account (30 April) while taking a swipe at the boss.

“Well played Celtic absolutely relentless,” he wrote.

“Cameron Carter-Vickers [is] a warrior.. Maybe we will see the real Rangers next time.”

He accompanied the tweet with the hashtag #BealeBall.

Bragging rights

If we had claimed the win that our play on the day arguably deserved, then we’d be the first ones getting at Sutton.

Ultimately it was the same story as has been in most of these games this season under Beale. We were the better team but didn’t have the quality to show it.

To give away a goal so cheaply at the highest level is absolutely pathetic and we really made it easy for them to just sit in and counter because of our lack of cutting edge up front.

Sutton has the bragging rights along with Celtic for the next while and we’ll have to just sit and take it until next season.

For now Rangers have to actively work towards improving our squad in the summer transfer window with nothing else to play for this season.

The campaign is over in April and that is purely embarrassing. This should sit with the players all summer and they should come back with a point to prove next season.

In other Rangers news, one star dropped a 2/10 stinker in our player ratings for the Celtic loss.
