Rangers to complete eight new signings despite Ross Wilson exit amid unacceptable season
We’re delighted to welcome Tam McManus as our exclusive Rangers columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Tam McManus has backed Rangers to sign up to eight new players in the summer transfer window despite Ross Wilson’s imminent exit from Ibrox.
The Telegraph reported on 12 April that Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal with the Ibrox giants to hire their sporting director, who’s now expected to head to the City Ground to take on a bigger role he currently holds in Glasgow.
Wilson, 39, has been widely criticised at Ibrox in recent months and McManus believes plenty of work will be done in the summer to improve the squad he’s set to leave behind.
Speaking to Ibrox News about Wilson and the Gers’ summer recruitment, McManus said: “I don’t know the ins and outs of John Bennett’s relationship with Ross Wilson but I think Ross will know this season hasn’t been good enough.
“Celtic look odds-on to win the domestic treble this season and that’s not acceptable for Rangers.

“It’s got to be a big summer so they can get closer to Celtic next season – there’s no doubt about that.
“Wheels will already be in motion and you’ll see seven or eight new signings at Ibrox in the summer.”
Rangers are set to be hit by multiple exits in the summer with Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Allan McGregor, Ryan Jack, Scott Arfield, Setrevn Davis and Filip Helander among those who are going to be out of contract.
Malik Tillman’s loan also expires and it remains to be seen whether he’ll be signed on a permanent basis from Bayern Munich.
In other Rangers news, the Gers have completed a transfer “coup” with terms now agreed at Ibrox.
