Rangers ace Alfredo Morelos wanted by Tigres for January transfer
Mexican giants Tigres UANL are keen on signing Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos before the transfer deadline on 1 February, according to Telediario.
Los Auriazules are looking to put together a team that can challenge for the Mexican national title this season having won the competition seven times in their history.
Andre-Pierre Gignac is a key figure at the club and his knowledge of European football has seen Colombian international Morelos enter their radar.
Manager Diego Cocca wants to pair the Frenchman and the Ibrox star together in a potent front two for the club which went on to win the CONCACAF Champions League in 2020.
Morelos had been second-choice at Rangers under Giovanni van Bronckhorst this season but Michael Beale’s arrival at Auchenhowie has seen him start every game since then.

Mexican leagues are not where one first thinks when it comes to football superpowers and rich sides but there is more money and appeal than many realise in the country.
Having said that, it would still take a rather fantastic bid from Tigres in order for Rangers to let Morelos go in January when they are still trying to get him to sign a new deal in Glasgow.
Even if he doesn’t put pen to paper at Ibrox, the Light Blues are probably better off keeping him for this season and getting the most out of his undoubted talent than selling him for cheap in January.
Beale obviously likes him and what he offers the side when he plays and if he intends to keep starting him then there is no reason for him to be forced to sell him right now.
Doing so almost says to Celtic that the club have given up on trying to chase them down in the Premiership and that is the worst message they could possibly send.
In other Rangers news, one player the Gers may have wanted to replace Morelos if he leaves is still in talks to extend his stay at his current club.
