£3m transfer news emerges in Rangers bid to sign Dion Sanderson amid loan deal twist
Rangers have had two major hurdles thrown in front of them in their bid to sign Wolves defender Dion Sanderson this month, according to Football Scotland.
The Sun reported on 31 December that the Gers are keen on signing the 23-year-old defender after scouting him while on loan at Birmingham City.
However, Football Scotland now claims that not only would Wolves want £3million for Sanderson but they also don’t have the option to recall the Englishman from his loan spell at St Andrew’s in January.
It is understood that if Rangers are to sign Sanderson, Birmingham would have to agree to it.

The Sun reported that they want a permanent deal for Sanderson so they’re hardly going to agree to terminate his loan deal just so he can go to Ibrox.
Sanderson’s a key player for the West Midlands club and has played in all but one of their 25 English Championship matches this season.
If Rangers are dead set on signing Sanderson then they would maybe have to cosy up to Birmingham a bit and offer them a replacement defender.
But as the options at Ibrox are either playing regularly or injured at the moment, that seems very unlikely.
Michael Beale’s inherited a mess of a defence.
Filip Helander’s been injured for what seems like forever now and John Souttar was signed as a sick-note as has been once since.
Leon King is still too young to play regularly, James Sands is simply terrible, the jury is still out on Ben Davies and Connor Goldson is also known to have his moments.
Goldson is obviously here for the long term and hopefully, King is too.
