Cardiff City make approach for Rangers loanee Aaron Ramsey
Aaron Ramsey has been approached by Cardiff City about joining them for the 2022/23 season, meaning his stay at Rangers is essentially over.
The Wales superstar joined Ibrox on loan in January for the second half of the 2021/22 season but struggled to make a big impact after suffering with injuries in Glasgow.
With his loan set to expire at the end of the month, Ramsey is set to return to Juventus where he has one year remaining on his contract but according to 90min [June 6] his hometown club Cardiff have thrown their name in the hat for his services.

They claim that Juventus are set to do “what they can” to part ways with Ramsey this summer, including making him available for a free transfer.
Previous reports claim that Rangers have no intention of triggering their option to make his loan move permanent [Tutto Mercato, May 27], meaning he has played his final game for the Light Blues.
Right decision
Ramsey was undoubtedly a big name signing in January and at the time many people believed he was the missing piece of the puzzle in what was to be a highly successful season.
But unfortunately it didn’t work out that way. The Wales international was restricted to just five appearances in the Scottish Premiership and missed the decisive penalty in the Europa League final shootout.

His astronomical wages, age and injury record mean it would be hard to justify adding another year or more to his contract when there are youngsters like Alex Lowry knocking on the door to be part of the squad.
It was a great move at the time, but ultimately didn’t work out and both parties should look to close that chapter and move on to pastures new rather than trying again to make it work. It simply isn’t worthwhile for anyone.
