Rangers goalscorer Cedric Itten may have played one of his last games for the club at Hearts
Rangers striker Cedric Itten’s goalscoring performance at Hearts may have been one of his last for the club according to Andy Little.
The Swiss forward headed home the equaliser midway through the first half at Tynecastle on Saturday (14 May) but has featured sparingly for Giovanni van Bronckhorst this season.
The manager made 10 changes to his line up for game and brought on numerous teenagers, which allowed the 25-year-old an opportunity, but former Ger Little thinks it isn’t likely to be see many encores.
Speaking on the Rangers TV match broadcast (14 May, 12.30pm) during the first half he said: “Might be one of the last times we see Cedric Itten in a Rangers shirt.
“Who knows what will happen… he certainly hasn’t been in the manager’s thoughts.”
A short while later after the striker had scored (12.49pm) Little added: “What I was trying to say earlier was I think he should feel a little bit aggrieved because I think Cedric Itten, he’s scored goals throughout his career when he’s been given chances.

“His stats must be really, really high.
“He gives you something different, he just hasn’t had a lot of joy and a lot of game time.”

Itten was a committed participant in a rare extended run out this season, but he hasn’t performed consistently at the club, despite what Little believes.
Just six goals in 41 appearances heading into the game on Saturday doesn’t represent the kind of return that would allow him to threaten the likes of Alfredo Morelos or Kemar Roofe.
He had only featured once in the league this year before the weekend, having spent the first-half of the season on loan at Gruther Furth.
Morelos’ future beyond the summer is uncertain as he will be coming back off a lengthy injury lay-off, but his form prior will have drawn the attention of potential transfer suitors.
Perhaps Itten would benefit from more regular involvement, but unless Roofe is also missing he is not going to be an obvious starter.
The European money the club have brought in this year could have given them the ammunition to bring in even more competition up front.
So unless his fortunes take a major change direction the Swiss international’s future may be elsewhere.
