Rangers employee Kevin Thomson front-runner for Raith Rovers manager job
Rangers TV employee Kevin Thomson is in the running to be the next Raith Rovers manager, according to The Scottish Express.
The newspaper claims that the 37-year-old former Gers midfielder “is a front-runner” with John McGlynn set to leave Kirkcaldy and join Falkirk.
It is understood that due to the tremendous start he’s had in his coaching and managerial career, Thomson has also attracted interest from Scottish Premiership and Championship clubs.
This season, he led Kelty Hearts to the League Two title while he’s previously coached at Rangers’ academy.

It’s no surprise that he’s attracted attention from Championship outfit Raith, who need a new manager after John McGlynn’s exit was confirmed.
Raith have today [4 May] made it official on their website that they are “inviting applications for the vacancy of First Team Manager at the club as part of a thorough and structured recruitment process”.
Of course, if they want Thomson, they’ll have to make a move for him and make him aware of their interest first as it’ll no doubt be a tough decision for him to quit Kelty.
However, this is a big opportunity for the former Rangers midfielder, who may well be someone who returns to Ibrox in the future as the manager.
He’s been outstanding and you can tell from his punditry work on Rangers TV that he’s a man who is comfortable with what he’s talking about, can make on-the-spot analyses and also comes across really well.
It’ll be a pleasure for the boys at Raith to play for Thommo and we wish him all the best whether he’s at Raith or Kelty next season.
In other Rangers news, this midfielder’s future is up in the air at Ibrox.
