Rangers' Fashion Sakala takes dig at Celtic after Scottish Cup win
Rangers got their much-needed revenge on Old Firm rivals Celtic on Sunday as they beat the Hoops 2-1 after extra time in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
Substitute Scott Arfield got a vital equaliser for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side after Greg Taylor had opened the scoring before Carl Starfeldt deflected the ball into his own net to seal the win for the Gers.
It was a massive win for the Light Blues having lost the previous two league encounters against their closest rivals and winger Fashion Sakala is still basking in the glory of reaching the final.
The 25-year-old Zambian took to his Instagram page to send a hilarious photo of him still standing as the green and white shirts crumbled around him following the late own goal.
“Pic of the day,” Sakala captioned the image with. “I’m still standing while others need an ambulance.”
Sunday’s glorious win at Hampden Park put the cherry on top of the cake that was last week for Rangers Football Club.
It began seven days prior when the Gers dismantled St Mirren in their own backyard 4-0 with a hat-trick from Kemar Roofe and continued on throughout the entire club.
Before the senior side played again, the B team secured victory in their own mini Old Firm derby before the Europa League took centre stage.
It took extra time in that too but Rangers did come out on top against Braga with Roofe again the match-winner as he fills the shoes of Alfredo Morelos who is out with injury.
The Scottish Cup success then completed the fine week for the club but it only sets up even bigger weeks to come.
They have a good rest before they play Motherwell at the weekend but after that, the schedule reads RB Leipzig, Celtic, RB Leipzig which will almost certainly define their season.
