Done deal: Rangers agree terms to sign Mulindwa, image shows him with new jersey
Rangers have agreed a deal to sign Christian Mulindwa on a permanent basis, it has been confirmed.
The Gers’ official Academy Twitter account confirmed on Easter Monday [18 April] that Mulindwa will join the Under-18s squad and has penned a deal until the end of next season.
As well as the announcement, an image of Mulindwa holding the Rangers jersey was uploaded to social media.
Mulindwa has been at Auchenhowie for a while, presumably on trial, so it’s about time that he was signed up permanently on a contract at the club.
He’s clearly impressed in his time in Glasgow and we really hope he can kick on and progress with the Under-18s.
Of course, it’s tough for young players to do that because so many get to the level Mulindwa has now reached only to never make it properly at a senior level.
But we hope that this smartly-dressed young man can be one of the few who do make it and, hopefully, manages to make it at Ibrox.
There’s not a lot of information about Mulindwa on the web but it looks as though the youngster is a striker who’s previously been attached to Brentford in some way or another.
Either way, Rangers’ academy is starting to produce some really bright young talents.
It’s gone a bit quiet in terms of youth development in recent years but Billy Gilmour, Nathan Patterson, Alex Lowry and Leon King are among those now starting to come through.
Rangers’ academy has the potential to not only rake in a lot of money but also to really improve the first-team squad at Ibrox too.
Let’s hope the positive momentum keeps on going.
