Celtic reportedly want to return to the traditional allocation numbers of 8000 away fans for their games against Rangers.

That's according to The Daily Record, who claim that it's the Gers holding back the arrangement.

This season, neither Rangers nor Celtic had away fans at their respective home grounds.

Both the home sides ended up winning the game, and their tit-for-tat moves have been met with plenty of criticism.

End this

If Celtic are willing to stick to the original arrangement then it makes sense to end this silly row once and for all.

We're sure that both sets of fans will be open to having away fans back in the stadiums.

Not only does it make it a fairer playing field, but it also generates a ridiculous atmosphere during derby days.

Football is all about the animosity of rival fans and that cannot be created if the crowds are partisan.

We think it's time that SPFL gets seriously involved and imposes heavy sanctions if either party are unwilling to comply.

This spoils the integrity of the game and other teams will also decide to do this if it suits their agenda.

No rational argument is made for this to continue and at least there is some willingness to budge on the Celtic side.

We don't know what it will take to get Rangers to agree to this, but surely there must be something that can be done.
