Ianis Hagi Rangers release clause revealed ahead of January
Rangers star Ianis Hagi does have a release clause in his contract at the club, according to his uncle-in-law Gica Popescu.
The Romanian starlet has been brilliant in his two years at Ibrox but has recently been linked with a January transfer move to Galatasaray in Turkey [En Son Haber].
Hagi has managed just three goals this season but his performances have been good, meaning his departure would be a huge loss to Rangers.

Now speaking to the Daily Record, Popescu has revealed that there is a release clause in Hagi’s contract at Ibrox but he has urged the 23-year-old to stay at Rangers for the foreseeable future.
“My advice for Ianis is to stay in Glasgow for two or three years and become a super important player for Rangers,” he said.
“When I was a player, I lived in Eindhoven for four years when I was at PSV, then I went to Tottenham for a year and to Barcelona where I had a house for 27 years.
“So why does he have to hurry? At these big clubs, they get impatient at this time of year.
“Ianis needs to stay at Rangers where he is loved, he is appreciated and plays at a high enough level that gives him a chance of a really good move.
“I know Ianis has a clause in his contract. I don’t know if it’s for £15, £17 or £20 million, but there is a clause and it’s a clause any club can pay at any time.
“If he stays at Rangers for another couple of years, the amount of money clubs will pay for him will get much higher and he will earn more too.”

Patience
Previously described as ‘sensational‘ by Chris Sutton, Hagi has got all the ability in the world and he’s still young so a potential transfer doesn’t need to go through right now.
Rangers are likely to face a lot of interest for their stars during the January window after Steven Gerrard’s exit to Aston Villa and their fine performances during their European campaign so far.
They will need to keep as many of their top players as possible during the window in order to sustain their title challenge during the season, and Hagi is absolutely one of them.
The fact there is a release clause in his contract won’t be news to anyone at the club or any interested parties, but it will set the anxiety of the fans off during a month where speculation will be rife.
It’s good to see that the people around him are seemingly encouraging him to stay at the club though, with Popescu following in Gheorge’s footsteps of telling Hagi to stay in Glasgow.
