Barry Ferguson makes Rangers title prediction
Barry Ferguson believes Rangers will win the Scottish Premiership title again if they can keep hold of their key players in January.
The Gers currently sit top of the table at the winter break, six points ahead of Celtic despite a change of manager in mid-season that saw Giovanni van Bronckhorst replace Steven Gerrard.
The Ibrox side have also ensured qualification to the knockout stages of the Europa League, with a star-studded clash against Borussia Dortmund set for February.

Rangers have seen some of their top stars linked with a move away from the club in January, but former club captain Ferguson wrote in his Daily Record column that he believes if they can keep their squad together this month then the title is theirs to lose.
“It’s straightforward for me,” he said. “If Rangers can fend off the expected interest in their top players then they will be the ones who remain on top by the end of the season.
“Nothing is guaranteed in the January window but I think Rangers will look to the big picture – and the £40m carrot up for grabs of the Champions League at the end of the season.
“The rewards are huge and I am sure they will do everything in their power to keep hold of the club’s best players.
“This is the best squad in the country. Rangers have strength in depth in every position.”

Decisions
Ferguson is correct when he says that Rangers have the best squad in the country and it’s hard to argue with him when he says they should win the league if they keep that team together.
They will face some tough decisions this month though during the transfer window, and GvB must face them head on to ensure that the right decision is made.
The likes of Glen Kamara, Alfredo Morelos, Ianis Hagi, Joe Aribo and Ryan Kent have all been linked with a move away and it’s tough to see how Rangers can reject all interest with the sort of money that will be on offer.
With that said though, if they can limit the loss of their stars to just one or two then they can trust the manager to replace him adequately to continue their charge for success this season.
