Jordan Campbell wants Rangers to sign Andreas Skov Olsen in January
The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell has named Bologna winger Andreas Skov Olsen as his dream signing for Rangers in the January transfer window.
Il Resto Del Carlino reported earlier in December that the Gers have approached Bologna with an enquiry about signing the 22-year-old Denmark international.
Campbell is excited by the Dane’s potential arrival at Ibrox, saying that while it may seem like an unrealistic deal, it’s one that actually could be pulled off.
“You get those names that never go away and Olsen is one,” said Campbell on The Athletic’s website.
“He falls into the category of ‘should be unrealistic but isn’t quite’. Plus, a Danish winger signing from Italy? I think I’ve heard that one before somewhere.
“He has terrific technique and dribbling ability and would fill that berth on the right wing by providing a different skill set to what is currently available.”
Extra depth out wide
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has overseen a brilliant run of form at Rangers since he was hired to replace Steven Gerrard in November.
Under his watch, the Gers are unbeaten in all competitions, have qualified for the Europa League knock-out stages, drew with Lyon and have opened up a six-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
It’s all going swimmingly and as that is the case, strengthening in January isn’t a massive priority.
As it stands, we have a squad capable of winning the league so any money thrown at signing players in January should be invested wisely and have the future in mind.
Skov Olsen is a young, right-sided winger who’s great at bursting forward and getting into the penalty area.
He’s definitely got something different about him compared to our other attackers and in order to stop playing Ianis Hagi out on the right, another right-winger would be handy.
In other Rangers news, it’s the perfect chance for the Gers to sign this player in January.
