Rangers have been linked with a January move for Hearts defender John Souttar as they look to retain the Scottish Premiership.
The Mail reported this week that the Bears are keeping a close eye on the situation with the enforcers’ contract close to an end.
It means Souttar could be available on the cheap in January, as the Gers look to solve their defensive issues at Ibrox.
There have been many reasons behind the slump in defensive performance this season compared to last already.
First is simple, the form and consistency has been nowhere near the standards set by Steven Gerrard at Ibrox.
When you add to that the enforced absences of Conor Goldson and Filip Helander already, and there are going to be problems.
Souttar is part of a Hearts side who have taken the league by storm after promotion, currently sitting second ahead of our meeting on Saturday.
This will act as a small scouting mission for Gerrard, but he will be hoping for a solid performance in a big defeat, as the Bears looking for another big three points over near rivals.
We asked our esteemed panel of Rangers Super Fans over on Facebook if this is a move they would like to see.
The response was overwhelming, with the majority split on whether or not this would be a good move for both player and more importantly the club.
