Steven Gerrard hints that Rangers man Juninho Bacuna will start soon
Steven Gerrard has hinted that Rangers summer signing Juninho Bacuna will finally start for his new club soon.
In the last transfer window, the Gers signed the 24-year-old from Huddersfield Town, and Gerrard has been very careful with him so far.
He has made just three appearances for the Bears so far this season, totalling just 42 minutes on the pitch.
However, when speaking to Rangers TV after Rangers beat Dundee FC, the 41-year-old suggested that Bacuna could start very soon.
He said: “We’ve only given him the time to show us moments, but there’s a start on the horizon for him.
“Hopefully, it’ll be in the next couple of games, and if not, we’ll get him a start pretty soon because he’s an exciting player, he can combine, he can fight, he can hustle, and he’ll make us better.”
Good news for Bacuna.
The 24-year-old has been waiting very patiently for his chance, and it does seem as if he will finally get a start soon.
It will be intriguing to see which game Gerrard decides to throw him into, as the Gers have two games before the international break, which could provide Bacuna the chance to impress from the start.
Sparta Prague on Thursday and Hibernian on Sunday will be very tough, so if Bacuna plays in either, then you would expect he will be ready.
The Bears have a lot of options in the centre of midfield, and Bacuna provides another more attacking option, and he could prove to be a very good signing.
He had a decent goalscoring record in the Championship for the Terriers, and we are intrigued to see how he does when he finally starts a game for the Gers.
In other Rangers news, the Gers have forced Hibernian to make a change off the pitch.
