Chris Sutton: Celtic being four points behind Rangers is miracle
Chris Sutton has claimed that Celtic sitting only four points behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership is a “minor miracle.”
The controversial pundit was left weeping over the injury issues of his former side after they needed completely overhauling.
Ange Postecoglou has been backed to the hill, bringing in numerous big-money names to Parkhead only to struggle so far.
Writing in his Daily Record column, Sutton made the laughable claim despite the money available at our near rivals.
“In fact, it’s probably a minor miracle Celtic are only four points behind Rangers in the league, in the group stage of the Europa League and the last four of the Premier Sports Cup,” he wrote.
“This is a club that finished 25 points behind Rangers last season and needed completely overhauled.”
Everything surrounding Celtic is laughable at this moment in time.
This is a club that poked and taunted the Bears during our lowest moments over the past 10 years, and completely crumbled when we lifted number 55.
Let’s not forget, Rangers have probably had the worst luck with injuries and COVID-19 this season and it has savaged our squad and management.
We have been without the likes of Conor Goldson, James Tavernier, Ryan Kent and didn’t even have senior keepers or a manager at one stage.
But yes, because poor old Celtic needed an overhaul, it is them who have been the worst by everything going on at this moment in time.
Sutton is scraping the barrel here and if that gap widens as the season goes on, we could be set for even more hilarious columns to wake up to on a Saturday morning.
