Lyon will be without Shaqiri and Dembele for Rangers clash

Lyon will reportedly be without Xherdan Shaqiri and Moussa Dembele for their Europa League clash against Rangers on Thursday.

According to French media outlet Radio Scoop, Dembele has an issue in one of his muscles and will miss this game.

L’Equipe have also reported that Shaqiri will be unavailable for the European tie as he has not been vaccinated completely.

Boost for Rangers

Gers have a few injuries to their players as well so will take whatever absentees they get in the Lyon side.

While the Ligue 1 outfit have not hit the ground running at the start of this season, they’re still a big-name team to face and have the capability to run riot on their day.

Dembele especially, is one who can wreak havoc in opposition defences and it appears that Steven Gerrard’s men will not have to deal with him this week.

After what’s been a tough start to the season, Rangers have found some form of late and will want to continue it in this European fixture.

Lyon are not going to make things easy for them so Gerrard will have to bring a tune out of his players.

Hopefully, the likes of Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent come to the party and immediately put the opponents on the back foot as it will give Gers a great chance to win this one.

In the past few seasons, Gers have enjoyed playing under the lights on Thursday nights and will be hoping it continues this time around as well.
