Rangers fans will surely be fuming after Alfredo Morelos' candid interview
Alfredo Morelos wishes the opportunity to leave Rangers arrives soon amid reports linking him with an exit.
The Colombian forward was heavily linked with FC Porto in the summer, but a move to the Portuguese side failed to materialise, according to The Daily Record.
However, given Rangers’ financial predicament post their Champions League exit, they almost certainly will have to offload a big name or two.
By the look of it, Morelos appears to be the one who’s most keen on forcing a way out of the club.
In an interview with Colombian radio station El VBar de Caracol Radio, the 25-year-old said, “An agreement has not been reached with the teams; I am calm, and I am a young player; I hope that soon [I will be given the opportunity to leave].
“Here in Rangers, I have already been champion, I have made history, and we hope that it will happen—the opportunity to come out in the best way.
“Each player wants to improve each day and be in a better league, in a more watched league.”
It makes no sense to keep a player like this on the books, especially one who’s being so vocal about wanting to leave.
We’re sure that Rangers fans too, are unlikely to be too pleased hearing him say this.
Sure, there are clubs better than Rangers and leagues better than the Scottish Premiership, but these are conversations meant to take place behind closed doors.
Players often have agreements with the board about leaving after a year, but don’t speak to the media in a bid to attract interest from clubs that are keen.
He says he’s completely focused on Gers at the moment, but with such comments, we have every reason to question whether or not he is giving his hundred percent for the club.
