Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos makes his feelings clear on Ibrox star
Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has remained at Ibrox beyond Tuesday’s transfer deadline and the Colombian appears to have accepted his fate.
The 24-year-old was linked with an exit all summer, with Porto regularly mentioned almost every day at one point as willing suitors.
However, the Portuguese giants never tabled an official bid for Morelos, and none of his other suitors came in with an offer as last confirmed by Steven Gerrard [Sky Sports].
Morelos was involved in action in the 1-0 win over Celtic on Sunday, but has only taken to his personal Instagram account to post about it late on Monday tonight, with the last one coming in much later on Tuesday evening.
Someone who wants a move away would not be posting his affection for the club on transfer deadline day, and the Bears ace is clearly looking forward to another season at Ibrox.
While his talent and massive potential are never in doubt, Porto and co were not convinced enough to part with top dollar for Morelos.
His disciplinary shortcomings are of concern, and suitors will be watching to see if he can improve on that major weakness this season.
Despite his heroics in front of goal in the Europa League and Scottish Premiership last term, the Rangers hitman needs to even do more this season.
He has struggled to establish himself as a key player for his country, barely getting a chance to impress at the Copa America earlier in the summer, and that did not help his chances of leaving Ibrox.
With a World Cup on the way, Morelos needs to be fighting for a space in Colombia’s starting XI if he wants to catch the eyes of the plenty scouts that will be running the rule over the tournament next summer.
For now, El Buffalo remains a Rangers man and will have to make the most of that in the coming months.
In other Rangers news, PL club is plotting late summer deal to sign Bears ace following an extensive homework.
