Kris Boyd fears Borna Barisic is leaving Rangers
Kris Boyd believes that Borna Barisic has played his last game for Rangers after he was pictured in an emotional state after the Old Firm.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Rangers striker revealed that he believes Barisic could be leaving Ibrox after the Croatian was seen waving to the fans and taking in the atmosphere.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move away, and after missing out on the Champions League, he thinks Barisic could be the man to depart [Sky Sports, via the Daily Record].
“There’s two days left of the transfer window; if he’s waving his goodbyes, if he is saying cheerio to the Rangers fans, listen, he’s been a great servant.
“When we got knocked out of the Champions League, all the stories were that someone had to go.
“If it is Borna Barisic, I think he has served himself well in a Rangers story. What I will say to him is he won’t play for another club like Rangers, but good luck to him if he does.”
Will Barisic leave?
The Croatian has been linked with a move away but not recently, but this did seem like Barisic was saying goodbye, and Boyd clearly thinks he could be going [Give Me Sport].
However, we hope that he stays, and this reaction was just because the Gers won an Old Firm in front of fans again.
If he were to leave, then he would probably be remembered as a key part of the Gers side that stopped Celtic from winning their tenth title in a row.
Last season he provided a whopping 14 assists in all competitions and has been described as “fantastic” by his mentor Alen Petrovic [the Scottish Sun].
So, it will be interesting to see what happens with Barisic, but we hope that Boyd is proved wrong and he stays.
