Glen Kamara edging close to signing new Rangers deal

Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara is set to sign a new deal to remain at Ibrox beyond the summer of 2023, according to The Athletic.

The 25-year-old Finland international has interests from the Premier League and is keen on a move to the Premier League, but that would have to wait until later.

Rangers are set to offer Kamara improved terms on the understanding that if a suitable bid comes in for him they will do business.

Huge boost

Rangers were unable to control the midfield against Malmo in Sweden, largely due to his suspension, and his importance to Steven Gerrard’s side is huge.

We definitely cannot lose him this summer, and the Light Blues have to be ready with a replacement brought in anytime they want to cash in on him.

Kamara was bound to attract more attention to himself after an impressive European Championship campaign with Finland, and Rangers are doing the smart thing by moving to hand him a new deal.

His value will continue to increase, and should he lead his country to the World Cup next summer and do well again, it could be our best chance to sell him for a huge profit.

With Champions League qualification to pursue and a Scottish Premiership title to defend, we definitely cannot afford to lose such an influential player anytime soon.

Kamara would be available for the second leg of the third round qualifiers against Malmo next week, and his return definitely hands Gerrard a massive boost.
