Rangers Super Fans slam Connor Goldson display after loss v Malmo

Rangers fans were less than impressed by Connor Goldson’s performance on Tuesday night in the 2-1 defeat to Malmo in Sweden.
Steven Davis’ late strike gave the Gers some hope ahead of the second leg at Ibrox next week but a woeful period just after half-time did the damage as Steven Gerrard’s men suffered defeat.
Goldson, 28, was one of many Rangers players to struggle at the start of the second half and he was at the centre of an embarrassing moment for Malmo’s second goal.
After James Tavernier lost possession, the ball was played across the Light Blues’ goal and instead of clearing his lines, Goldson seemed to completely miss the ball, allowing an opposing attacker in on goal to score.
It was an awful lapse in concentration and our panel of Rangers Super Fans weren’t happy with the centre-back’s performance.
Some have even called on Gerrard to sign Gary Cahill to add to the defence after he was released by Crystal Palace.
Here is what they had to say:
Cahill has been linked with a move to Ibrox since the end of last season.
According to The Sun, Gerrard is eyeing up the ex-Chelsea and England centre-back and a £35,000-a-week deal is on the cards for him if he heads to Govan.
Goldson is better than Cahill, in our opinion. But Cahill could be better than the other options Gerrard has in the centre-back area.
He’d slot in great into our defence but ultimately, adding to the back-line is not a priority and we’d rather see a new central midfielder and right-sided winger if deals can be done.
In other Rangers news, Gerrard has got this decision on one of his star players totally wrong.
